It’s been too long since the last update, I know, but stuff happens y’know? So I hope you like the new site design, I like it better than the last one, much better. So what’s changed? Not much really. Firstly, the reviews have been consolidate to one page. Why? Well, maintaining a site with two page reviews is more work than it’s worth, and navigating a site as such is also more work. Also, the reviews aren’t long enough to actually facilate two pages, I myself found that gimmicky at best. Secondly, I got rid of that whole “Life Zone” thingy. Why? Gimmicky too. Notice the editorials have their own link. Also, the iSyndicate newsfeeds are no more, actually, they been like that for a while. End result: no more News link, at least for now.
So, what the hell took so long to update? I got lazy. I got so caught up in the whole site redesign, and suffered numerous computer problems, which at the time could not afford to repair. So for 5 months, I was reduced to browsing with the Dreamcast, which is not too bad. But even thinking about creating web pages with that gave me headaches. So then there was the “Toolset”, which originally was going to be database driven path to keeping the site updated. Databases are the coolest. Unfortunately, my hard drive got too cramped and I splurged for a new one. A nice 40GB drive...of which my computer can only access 8.4GB, no problem though, since I’ll be moving the hard drive to “Project PC”, a design of my own devious creation, with maximum power. So since then, I went to experimenting with the devil’s tools, WYSIWYG editors, Namo and Fusion 7 in particular. As you can see, I settled on using the preview version, since it was fast, and stylish too. It’ll have to do for now, until I get my toolset from the other drive and get everything into database format.
So is this it? No, it’s not. Consider this design a beta, some things need fixing, more stuff needs added, and I got a whole two years of gaming history to cover. I’ll be busy, for sure, but for now, enjoy the new site makeover.
